Blimey, that was a struggle but the forum is finally running on the latest version of the software.
Is reading up and commenting on the forum as he is stuck in work on a Sat morning at 7:00 in the morning. And not one vehicle has turned up yet for me to load. Grr. Glad i bought some models and paints, might get a whole army painted at the minute at works expense!

On a side note looks like Stuarts anti bot stuff is working. And many congratulations to the 15 new members who are all sharing today as their birthday. To be fair though I do miss forums with posts that link to dodgy sites, so at least it's working to a degree, even if sign-ups are not yet curbed.

Can't complain about today, 6 hours overtime at time and half, 4 of it spent painting!
If anything the spam account problem has become worse since I installed the reCaptcha plugin for the forum. I've got another plugin to try that references all new accounts against a database of spammers, but I'm still waiting for a registration key to allow me to install it. For now I'll have to keep deleting them by hand, and the birthdays will get tidied up by the forum itself when it rebuilds the calendar (not entirely sure how often it does this).
We also activate all accounts manually at the moment.
Not sure where the forum went then - there were lots of rogue PHP processes on the server though. This new build of the forum software doesn't fill me with confidence.
SPAM account registrations are going bonkers at the moment. Got a key on the way for a new anti-SPAM plugin for the forum though, so hopefully that will help.
Well whilst the creation of accounts is very noticeable, the fact we are not getting any posts means you have done something right. We all appreciate your good work Stu. Keep it up and have a hob-nob as a reward.
New plugin activated. One spammer just slipped past it though.
