Air brush recommendations
#1
So i dusted off my old Airbrush yesterday with the intention of starting to paint some of my bigger models with it. Unfortunately i haven't touched it in 10 years or so and it is not in a usable state. Sad

Which brings me to my question, can anyone recommend a decent airbrush and compressor?

Does anyone at the club use one?

I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but would like a decent quality one.

I think Roger offered to pop along to club one evening with some of his wares if enough people are interested.

I think Big Rob uses one?

Indeed Stu, I keep poking Andy in a non-sexual fashion (often whilst calling him names,) about Rodge making a visit.

If the kit is a compressor and an airbrush that does seem good value but you do usally get what you pay for.

Avoid anything that uses cans of air and get a compressor. Preferably with a tank too. I bought three airbrushes before I settled the one I use now. I did loads of reviews and it is great for modeling.

You do need gravity feed for painting models as it lets you reduce the pressure alot to get good detail. My aircompressor was about £50 but I did not get a tank on it so I get less consistant pressure out of it. It does the job though.

Money no object go Iwata for the airbrush and compressor. That's what the pro painters use at GW. I asked them :O)

Let's be honest, that's hardly a glorious recommendation, seeing some of the paint jobs they turn out. Fair enough their better than me, but light years beyond some people I know. At least in their professional works.
