40K - An education
#21
Another problem with the necron flyers in the fact that the troops inside don't explode like all the other flyers, they go into regular reserve to come on next turn, which is okay in the relic and emperors will, as they most likely won't be threatening the objectives... but in all the other missions this is such a pain, because you most likely will never be able to take them out.

I have found that taking out Wraithwing is about weight of shots, not quality, they ignore 2 out of every 3 wounds no matter if they are a meltagun, missile, lascannon, battlecannon, demolisher cannon shots, boltgun, shuriken catapult, lasgun and shoota! Now they missiles and melta double tap them them out, but who has 18 of those per turn to throw into wraiths each turn while the Annihilation barges run riot in your lines.

It's why the Wraithwing is the best army in 40k at the moment, all of the top tables where a mix of Necrons v Daemons or Necrons v Nids, with the odd Eldar/Dark Eldar army knocking around. (the Necrons where all similar, 2 Destroyer Lords with Weave, MSS, Warscythe, 3x5 Warriors in Nightscythes, then either a 4th squad of Warriors in Nightscythe or 10 immortals on foot, 3x6 Wraiths or 2x6 with 1xScarabs and 2 or 3 Annihilations Barges and maybe a squad of Spyders

So all very similar, which gives us an advantage, we know how they are going to play, we just have to find out how to beat it, because it will be prevalent at BB3!
