I can confirm there was paint involved, of the GW variety.

One of my thumbnails is still caked in chaos black. It makes me look all emo. Well, 10% emo.

How I do my leather (purely out of experimentation!) is to do a sloid undercoat of Shining Gold (2/3 light coats), then plaster it is Devlan Mud Wash. I was amazed at the results considering the colour choice, but it looks like professional-painted leather in just 2 steps!

Slightly off-topic here, but heh.
After watching the Iron Man 2 movie numerous times, I can't help noticing how much the HammerDrones look like Tau Battlesuits off Dawn of War. They have the shoulder-mounted weapons of the Broadsides, and also do that Entrench thing that the Broadsides do in the game. Plus (in a way) the heads on the Drones look a bit like the ones on the Battlesuits. The computer designer
must have been a wargamer of some sort
. Wonder if he'd be interested in the club

I'd better start assembling my Freikorps models for the Malifaux game on Tuesday. Will hopefully have a few more cobblestone bases done by then too.
