This is my current idea for a cutlass board. It's very basic. Board 1 on the left, board 2 on the right, but gives some idea of what I'm trying to achieve.
Top left we've got the LH (Lighthouse).
The W's are warehouses.
Fntn - fountain.
On the second board we have contour lines to indicate a hillside/cliff face.
Top right you've got the plantation owners residence, with the slaves and stables on the road.
The main area on board 2 would be the governors residence, with a church, graveyard, stables, barracks and a lake which empties into a river running down the bottom of the 2 boards. Maybe a waterfall of some kind as it crosses the cliff side.
For pirate boats there's always this sort of thing.
