so i've been sort of looking at SAGA for a bit but i saw someone using some samurai in a battle report,a look with google turned up nothing,are they house rules or a supported army?

Samurai will probably be house rules at the moment as I'm pretty sure there isn't any battleboards out for them

I've found a few little bits online but nothing soild
preliminary Army Lists

Unit Types:

Warlord:
Armour 5/6v Shooting, Melee Dice 5, Move 6, Fatigue 4, Saga Dice 2, Number 1, Shooting Dice (2, if equipped with ranged weapons, reduces armor by 1 if ranged weapons are equipped)
Examples: Samurai Commanders, Other Commanders

Hearth Guard:
Armour 5, Melee Dice 2, Move 6, Fatigue 4, Saga Dice 1, Number 4, Shooting Dice (2, if equipped with ranged weapons, reduces armor by 1 if ranged weapons are equipped)
Examples: Samurai, Warrior Monks, Heavily Armored Europeans, Elite Korean Warriors, Buddhist Monks

Warriors:
Armour 4, Melee Dice 1, Move 6, Fatigue 3, Saga Dice 1, Number 8, Shooting Dice (1, if equipped with ranged weapons, reduces armor by 1 if ranged weapons are equipped)
Examples: Armored Ashigaru, Korean Warriors, Eruopeans

Levy:
Armour 3, Melee Dice 1/3, Move 6, Fatigue 2, Saga Dice 0, Number 12, Shooting Dice (1/2)
Unarmored archers unless noted in list

Equipment Notes:

Mounted: Move increased to L (12"), Armour reduced by 1 against shooting.
Teppo (Arquebus): Reduce Armor of target unit by 1, Reduce Armor of equipped unit by 1
Nageyari (Pike): Allows the use of Green battleboard abilities
Naginata, European Great Weapons, 2 handed flail: Reduce armor of enemy units in melee by 1, Attack rolls against units equipped with great weapons benefit from a +1 to hit
Buddhist Monks: As per Berserkers (Half armor double attacks)
Ninja: Undecided
Levy with Melee Weapons: Armor increased to 4, 1 Melee attack per 2 figures instead of 3


Takeda

Samurai Commander: Must be mounted
Samurai: Any number of Samurai may be mounted
Ashigaru: 1 unit of 8 may be equipped with Teppo
Unarmoured Ashigaru: Must be equipped with bow

Battle board abilities enhancing mounted combat

Oda/Tokugawa

Samurai: Any may be be equipped with Nageyari
Ashigaru: Any 2 units of 8 may be equipped with teppo
Any may be equipped with Nageyari
Peasant Levy: Equipped with Bow or Melee Weapons

Green Spear abilities from the Scots board

Useugi

Samurai Commander: May be mounted
Samurai: 1 unit may be mounted
1 unit may be Warrior Monk allies equipped with Naginata
1 unit may be armed with bows, to a maximum of 4 models
Ashigaru: Yari
Peasant Levy: Equipped with Bow or Melee Weapons

Anglo-Dane type defensive abilites

Shimazu

Samurai Commander: May be mounted, may be equipped with bow
Samurai: May be mounted, may be bow equipped
1 unit of 4 may be Ninja
Ashigaru: 1 unit of 8 may be equipped with Teppo
Peasant Levy: Bow

Welsh/Breton withdrawal / movement type abilities

Ii Clan / Obu's Red Regiment (any unit specially equipped with red armor)

Samurai Commander: May be mounted
Samurai: May be mounted
Ashigaru: Yari
Peasant Levy: Bow

Intimidation abilites, Terrified ect...

Ikko Ikki

Warrior Monk Commander: Naginata
Warrior Monks: May be on foot with Naginata, or Mounted with bow
1 unit may be Samurai allies (may then be on foot as normal)
Well Equipped Peasants: Any may be equipped with Teppo
Peasant Levy: Equipped with Bow or Melee Weapons

Teppo shooting abilities, abilities to give advantages to large units

Koreans

Ellite Korean Warriors: May be mounted and may have bow or 2 handed flail (as per dane axes, may be depicted as cavalary with 2 swords if you feel this is appropriate or fun)
Any unit may be Buddhist Monks (if mounted must have bow)
Korean Warriors: 1 unit may be equipped with Arquebus
Levy: Equipped with Bow or Melee Weapons

had some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, so ordered another point of Norman Warriors, some measuring sticks and some Kite shaped fatigue markers. Ordered after 9.00pm on Thursday, and they arrived this morning. Very chuffed to pieces !!
