Found more info out here, may give this a go.

The 'upcoming book' is Human Sphere and has been out for a while now. You can only use the Link rules if you're using a Sectorial Army (Think Theme/Tier List i.e Restricted choices and altered field allowances).

Definitely makes fielding a Sectorial List tempting though

Yeah just had a play around in the list creator, with a linked squad of three Wu ming in a imperial service list. May proxy some invincibles as Wu ming and give it a crack now a have basic knowledge of rules or might get a couple more games under my belt first.
