Hi Folks,

My name is Lee, I have only recently moved to Kidderminster and just started collecting Warhammer 40k again! Have been on and off since I was about 8 years old, now 31 and finally settled down so enjoying getting back into the hobby! I have an unpainted Eldar army, including some forge world pieces but with the new rules and changes made apparently they would no longer be a playable army!? So I started fresh and got myself a nice new Death Guard army- however, yet to get them all primed and painted! At the moment I am making my own tabletop, whilst trying to find players in my area and watching battle reports on youtube.  Can anyone tell me if you do or have plans to arrange meetings on weekends? I work evenings and Tuesday would be impossible for me to come along - keen to watch some people play and familiarise myself with the rules and pace of play, not to mention meet other enthusiasts.  Anyways, back to work- just painting some terrain at the moment and waiting for my new spray booth/extractor combined to be delivered!  Big Grin

Hope you are all well!

Cheers,

Lee (Have attached a photo of my board at the moment) - its based on Barbarus, home world of the Death Guard/Nurgle.

Hi Lee, good to hear from you. We’ve a good number of 40K players, so if you could get here on a Tuesday then you’d have no trouble getting a game. Some of our chaps also go along to Wyvern Wargamers in Bishampton (not far from Evesham) on a Sunday, so you might be able to get a game arranged there.

Hope to meet you at some point!

Hi Stuart, thanks for the warm welcome!  I'll see what I can do about coming along on a Tuesday but to be honest I will struggle! Just had a look at the Wyvern Wargamers Club in Bishampton and I should be able to get there no problems.  Its close to Inkberrow, used to work there a few years ago.  Mainly just want to come along to watch some games for now and see how it all works these days! - hopefully see you in the future too!

Cheers!
Hi Lee,

Funnily enough, I also moved to Kidderminster last year!

Don't play much 40K at the minute, but have played 10 or so games of 8th edition and have a fair few armies.

Hi Luke!

Good to hear! I moved here September last year, I used to live in Malvern but had to relocate to my hometown Chorley, Lancashire in 2016 when my mother suddenly passed away! Has been a gloomy few years but managed to get as close to Malvern as possible and start a new job but don't actually know anybody here!

None of my buddies at the moment share any interest in this, its something I only ever really did for the joy of collecting and painting. Over the last 20 or so years I have struggled to keep up to date and had start/stop moments. Starting up again last year I discovered my Eldar army had now been broken down into one of many factions, so thought hell with it, fresh start and the Daemons/Nurgle/Chaos Marines really got me buzzing again so treated myself to 3 sets of Poxwalkers (18), Plague Marine Squad (7), Typhus Herald of the Plague God, Plagueburst Crawler and the Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort along with the Codex. Going to get them all primed tomorrow, whilst continuing with my tabletop. Just put half of a GW Manufactorum together....what a ball ache!

Quite lucky really, I have a spare room which I have made into a Wargames room to hold all the bits and pieces that would have normally swamped my living areas!

Thanks for getting in touch! I came across Rogue Traders searching online - the Wyvern Wargamers will probably better suited for me though- I know they are having a meet tonight but having to wait in for an amazon special delivery of Sculptamold so I continue working on my terrain pieces/table. Just finished building the GW Manafactorum...that was a challenge lol 4th of March sounds good though, unless anything unexpected pops up I will definitely be there!  Really do need to meet more people and learn how the game itself is played these days!

Hi Lee,

Welcome.  As Jason said we've arranged to play a couple demo 40k games at 500pts at the next Wyvern club meeting.  I'm happy sit out a game so bring a 500pt list along if you wish.  8th edition is easy to learn compared to older editions.

I'm regular at Wyvern & RedWarSoc and enthusiastic 40k player so would be keen to pencil some future games in.

Matt S
