I'm leaning towards the first one as it has more medeas and the 2 orpheus' "should" be able to protect themselves. Plus the 10 launch assets would be a boon (considering so far I've been playing with 2) and the plan for the sr4 group is to sprint to the back field and just generally make a nuisance of themselves.
I think I prefer the second list, has all the things I'd expect to see in a PHR list.

The list I'm testing currently is:

--------------------------------------
MM v2 - 1236pts
UCM - 12 launch assets

SR10 Vanguard battlegroup (205pts)
1 x Atlantis - 205pts - H

SR10 Vanguard battlegroup (205pts)
1 x Johannesburg - 205pts - H
   + UCM Vice-Admiral (80pts, 4AV)

SR10 Line battlegroup (237pts)
1 x Seattle - 132pts - M
1 x Rio - 105pts - M

SR10 Line battlegroup (237pts)
1 x Seattle - 132pts - M
1 x Rio - 105pts - M

SR6 Pathfinder battlegroup (152pts)
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
2 x Santiago - 44pts - L
2 x Santiago - 44pts - L

SR5 Pathfinder battlegroup (160pts)
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
1 x New Orleans - 32pts - L

You've picked the right battleship fitz Wink I think you could upgrade the admeral in the second list to lvl five as you've got the points which makes it automatically better IMO. However the first list seems better for the way that the groups sit.
I'm not sure about the SR4 pathfinder group I personally perfer groups of similar frigates but havn't tried a group like that. Does it work well?

My own list is totally different Im testing running several crusier squadrons, with zero launch and no strike carriers just troopships.

Stuff I've seen online is you use the andromedas as kind of terriers. Get them behind the enemy battle line with a couple of max thrust moves and use the bombers to pick off hull points and possibly cause the enemy fleet to either ignore or turn round to deal with them.
My first go at a list;

--------------------------------------
Tournament - 1250pts
UCM - 6 launch assets

SR10 Vanguard battlegroup (195pts)
1 x Avalon - 195pts - H
+ UCM Commodore (40pts, 3AV)

SR10 Line battlegroup (190pts)
1 x San Francisco - 111pts - M
1 x Madrid - 79pts - M

SR16 Line battlegroup (301pts)
3 x New Cairo - 264pts - M
1 x Lima - 37pts - L

SR10 Line battlegroup (264pts)
1 x Seattle - 132pts - M
1 x Seattle - 132pts - M

SR4 Pathfinder battlegroup (128pts)
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L

SR6 Pathfinder battlegroup (152pts)
2 x Santiago - 44pts - L
2 x Santiago - 44pts - L
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L

A little of everything, would have loved to take some Taipeis but they didn't really work with the list.
That is a scary amount of burnthroughs Luke! I just hope your dice rolling is on form!

Agree that the Minos is the better Battleship, I've faced both and the Heracles is pretty underwhelming. Plus the Minos is a more aggressive ship with the crippling close action weapons and so forces the opponent to deal with it.

SR4 seem to work for Frigate Groups, unless your opponent has a similar group you'll still likely go first. Would be interesting to see how it works, if the opponent has enough launch they'll just counter you with theirs.

Interesting I always figured that launch acting after everything else would make them bad terriers (get shot before they do anything) but I suppose that it actually makes it more likley that your opponent will turn around and attempt to deal with them before they launch.

As everyone else is putting their lists up I'll stick mine on. These are the two I'm playing with. Need to test them out more to decide between them.

I think I prefer the second list as its more cruiser based but the first list has four torpedoes, a battleship Tongue and strike carriers. Both are in need of testing though, as Ive only played with variations of them.
Having since faced your second list Will, I'd agree, I like it too!
The second list looks fun with all the Calypsos!

Remind me which Heavy Cruiser the Achilles is again - is the Broadside orientated one?
