i would like to learn how to play he big battles for lord of the rings with the big units as i only know the scenorio stratedgy one.

Same here, definitely interested in looking at War of the Rings at some point. Hopefully my Elf Cavalry will be a tad more effective in the larger game...

did you and simon play a game of war of the ring a few times or just the stratedgy as they were in war of the ring pallets

We just played strategy, but we were using the movement trays from War of the Rings for convenience.

lol funny. lots of soldiers of a stratedgy game...
a balrog. there like unbeatable. played against a balrog once and he mauled elendil and then galadriel untill finally after 20 numenoreans and 10 galadhrim had been slain i through my isildur in and killed it then the survivors got masacred by orcs and moria goblins so i lost pritty badly.

I think I managed to take just a single wound off Simon's Balrog - and it took about 5 turns to do that.

lol that us nearlly worse than me! ye stuff like balrogs and nasty dragons really get on my nerves. though i think trolls are pointless as with aragorn i can take out a trolls 3 wounds easily with aragorns 3 attacks as i can use his might to buff it and use wizards to buff it back up to full.

In addition to the core War of the Rings we could also consider the Battlehosts expansion at some point.
