Black Stone Cherry - 8¬)

Whilst I was still relatively sober at our Christmas P*55 up last week, I got to hear some great (and not so great) local folk singers in Banbury.
Some stuff was barely Karaoke, other singers were very good. Just shows you what can potentially be found down your local boozer.
Cowell, shove that up your X Factor !

Seth Lakeman is well worth a listen for a contemporary take on folk music.
Well Mondays White Lies was immense. First support The Chevin were similar in style to WL but with a bit of a Smiths feel. The second called The Dukr Spirit were reasonable, but sandwiched themselves between much better acts. The band were good, but the female lead moved about like some form of demented interpretive dancer, and let the others down. However I did enjoy them, and wouldn't oppose seeing them again.
However once again the White Lies were on top form. The two headlines I have seen were amoungst the best I have seen, and in May there were only just upstaged by Kings of Leon, which is fair enough. They even played From the Stars, my favourite off To Lose My Life, which means it only took 3 shows for me to see it live.
Heard them mention that during their show yesterday - great loss to the station.
Korn tickets go on sale tomorrow. Playing Brum O2 on Monday 26 March
Oh yeah
Kinky Linky
Narcissistic Cannibal seems like a departure away from the norm with korn.
Great track tho.

Alcest - "Les Voyages de L'Âme"

French "shoe-gaze". Laid back stuff, but great atmosphere in places.
