Inert for decades after splintering from Hive Fleet Behemoth, Hive Fleet Centaurus has preyed on the outlying Colonies of the Imperium. Taking indication from sensory tendrils on the bio-ships, tasting chemical trails and atmospheric differentiation, the Hive spread like plague. Cities razed, networks and infrastructure growing steadily weaker. The adrenaline and terror only fuels them further.
Targeting the Eastern Fringes heavily has led to sustainable growth for the Hive, and in the wake of the Great Devourer, not one Colony stood strong for more than a month.

Astra Militarum forces lightly guarded the outskirts on the Eastern Fringes, taking the early mornings and early evenings to patrol the Colonies surrounding areas. Regions so often patrolled, but yet the strange fauna before the inevitable was unnoticed. Tunnels began to appear, screams were heard, and radios faded into nothingness.
Another Colony had been targeted, and another colony had ceased to exist.
